Bryn Forbes Cleared To Play For Michigan State

Michigan State transfer Bryn Forbes has been granted a waiver for immediate eligibility and will be able to suit up for coach Tom Izzo starting this fall.  The former Cleveland State star averaged 15.6 points per game during his sophomore season and made the move up back to his native East Lansing to be closer to home.

The Spartans lost their entire backcourt from a season ago, Keith Appling and Gary Harris, and Forbes should have an excellent opportunity to contribute right away.  Still, Forbes will have to compete against the incumbent Travis Trice and Denzel Valentine for playing time.

Forbes was the top scorer for Cleveland State and had a great showing against top competition, pouring in 22 against Kentucky on the strength of seven three-pointers.  Forbes was almost as good during his freshman season scoring 12.7 points per game and winning the Horizon League newcomer of the year honors.
