Kentucky Suspends Lloyd Tubman Indefinitely

Kentucky defensive end Lloyd Tubman has been indefinitely suspended from the team after being accused of first-degree rape.

According to a warrant obtained by the Lexington Herald-LeaderTubman had a previous relationship with the victim and provided details of what happened last Thursday.

Below is an excerpt from the Lexington Herald-Leader who had access to the warrant.

The woman said Tubman showed up at her dorm and called, asking to speak with her in her room, according to the court document. After initially refusing, the woman said she went to the lobby to check him in as her guest.

While she typed a paper sitting on her roommate’s bed, the woman said Tubman interrupted her repeatedly before he disrobed and refused to leave, according to the court document.

While she typed a paper sitting on her roommate’s bed, the woman said Tubman interrupted her repeatedly before he disrobed and refused to leave, according to the court document.

Tubman allegedly restrained her while she fought, the warrant said.

Immediately after the alleged rape, the student, who was “in shock,” told Tubman he had to leave, according to the warrant. He followed her to the elevator. The student took Tubman to the building’s lobby. She told police she’d been admonished previously for not being present when a visitor checked out.

According to the Fayette County (Ky.) Detention Center’s website, Tumban was arrested last Thursday and is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Head coach Mark Stoops voiced his concern with what has transpired.

“Obviously, I’m very concerned about the allegations and all parties involved,” Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said. “We’re working extremely hard to develop quality young men on and off the field. We will continue to cooperate with the local and campus authorities while the process takes its course.”

Through the Wildcats’ first five games, Tubman had yet to see any action.

Kentucky (4-1, 2-1) is off to their best start in years. They will look to improve to 5-1, without Tubman, this Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe at noon ET.
