It appears that the Pittsburgh Panthers athletic director opening will remain vacant for the foreseeable future.
Pittsburgh fired Steve Pederson back in December and there seemed to be some growing speculation that Northern Illinois athletics director Sean Frazier could be a candidate for the job.
In fact, Rich Walsh of Pittsburgh’s KDKA said Frazier was a finalist for the Panthers AD opening.

Well, not so fast.
In an interview with HuskieWire.com, Sean Frazier denied interest in the job and said that he was not a finalist.
“I am not a finalist for any job at Pitt,” Frazier said. “I’m unaware of how I (was on the list of finalists). I’m flattered, don’t get me wrong, but the only job I’m looking at is at the beloved Northern Illinois University.”
Let the search continue.
Pittsburgh, meanwhile, has replaced head football coach Paul Chryst with Pat Narduzzi.
With Frazier in charge of Northern Illinois athletics, the Huskies football program has gone 23-5 and appeared in the MAC title game in both years of the Frazier tenure — including one conference championship.
