UConn’s Kevin Ollie: ‘No plans to pursue’ other jobs

Take a deep breath, UConn fans. There is some news you are going to want to hear. Connecticut Huskies head basketball coach Kevin Ollie has addressed rumors regarding a potential jump to the NBA.

According to the latest buzz, Ollie is drawing interest from the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder.

While that would be a great opportunity for Ollie and one where he could work closely with Kevin Durant, who he already has a strong relationship with, Ollie said he has no plans to pursue any other jobs.

For now, Kevin Ollie is all about the Huskies.

“As I have said many times, I am proud and honored to be the head basketball coach at the University of Connecticut and I have no plans to pursue other opportunities,” Ollie said in a statement.

“We are already excited about next season and I am looking forward to preparing our team to be the best we can be on the court, in the classroom, and in our community.”

In his three years as the UConn head coach, Ollie has recorded a 72–33 overall record which includes a 2014 NCAA Tournament championship.
