Denver upsets No. 1 Notre Dame in lacrosse tournament

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been eliminated from the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament, despite being the No. 1 overall seed. As a result, the Denver team advances to the final matchup where they will take on either the Maryland Terrapins or John Hopkins.

Notre Dame gave it their all and forced overtime with a goal in the final seconds, but Denver was still able to hold off the top seed.

The last time the two teams played, Denver topped Notre Dame, 11-10, in overtime.

When the two sides met in the semifinals of the NCAA lacrosse tournament, the result was very much the same.

Despite the late rally, Denver was able to come up with a, once again, 11-10 win and they will now face off against the Maryland-John Hopkins winner on Championship Monday. It is the first championship game appearance in the history of the Denver program.
