One way that college coaches can interact with possible recruits is by calling them. They can see how they are doing and make sure they are still interested. So it was not unusual when small forward Miles Bridges got a phone call from Kentucky’s head coach John Calipari, but it was unusual where he got the call.
Bridges shared with MLive that he was on a date at the movies to see The Gallows, when he received a call from Calipari. So what do you do when you are in this situation?
“I had to ask, could I call him back. Coaches usually just call to check to see how I’m doing and to see if I’m still interested,” Bridges told them.
He knows exactly how to handle these situation, and that is because he isn’t new to them.
The five-star recruit also told MLive, that he receives anywhere from 25-30 messages and phone calls a day from coaches looking to steer him toward their program. But this is just something that comes from being a top recruit going into senior year.
Bridges has offers from Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, along with a few others. So it seems until Bridge decides which school he will play basketball at, he will continue to hear from many coaches and schools.
