Video: NC State goes crazy after walk-on gets scholarship

Paying for college is a very difficult thing to do. If you don’t get financial aid or have wealthy parents who are willing to help you out, you have two options: get a loan or hope to get a scholarship that will pay for your schooling.

One NC State walk-on football player felt the joy of receiving a full scholarship after he had struggled to pay for tuition through his first two years. College Spun shared the video of redshirt walk-on sophomore defensive back Nicholas Lacy receiving a scholarship from cornerback coach George Bartow. The team was overjoyed for their teammate and they showed him their appreciation.

That is an awesome way to make the kid feel welcomed onto the team. What a terrific story for Lacy. The team must value him as a defensive back to give him a scholarship after two years of being a walk-on.

The NC State Wolf Pack open the season on September 5 when they host Troy.
