Pittsburgh Steelers sign Michael Vick

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed their backup quarterback. After working out veteran signal-caller Michael Vick earlier in the day, the Steelers have placed Bruce Gradkowski on injured reserve and added Vick to the roster.

Gradkowski suffered a dislocated finer during Week 2 of the preseason that will require surgery.

With little faith in Landry Jones as the lone backup for Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers were forced to go out and add experience.

In Vick, they have one of the most talented quarterbacks on the market and a player who has a strong relationship with head coach Mike Tomlin.

The 35-year-old is not as explosive as an athlete as he once was and he may never make his way to the field, but he certainly has the talent and experience to serve as a spot starter if the situation demands it.
