Alabama underdog for first time in 72 games

The Alabama Crimson Tide looked pretty pitiful in last Saturday’s upset loss to the Ole Miss Rebels in Tuscaloosa. They haven’t been able to figure out their starting quarterback role just yet and their defense allowed way too much from the Rebels.

A week from Saturday, they team travels to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs which is surely to be a tough matchup for both teams. While the game is still almost two weeks away, the betting lines have been released for the game and according to College Spun, the Bulldogs are favored to win the game.

For the first time in seventy-two years, the Crimson Tide have been labeled an underdog. The Bulldogs have opened as a 1.5-point favorite over the Crimson Tide for the game on October 3.

Quarterback Greyson Lambert looked electric in the Bulldogs’ win over South Carolina on Saturday. He set an NCAA record for completion percentage as he was 96 percent, completing 24 of his 25 passes.

The Crimson Tide hosts Louisiana-Monroe Saturday before they travel to Athens, while the Bulldogs host Southern. Unless the Bulldogs have a terrible game and lose to the Jaguars, I don’t expect the betting line to move very much before the showdown next Saturday.
