The Kansas City Royals, fresh off a World Series victory against the New York Mets, had their celebratory parade in Kansas City this morning, and reserve outfielder Jonny Gomes was the star of the show despite not appearing in a single postseason game and only playing in 12 games with Kansas City after being acquired from the Atlanta Braves over the summer.
Sure enough, Fox Sports KC posted a video of Gomes’ speech at the parade, and it is everything you could ever hope for. On top of that, it proves that Gomes remained a strong locker room presence despite not being on the postseason roster.
That said, maybe Gomes has a career in professional wrestling once his baseball career is over? Not for nothing, but he cuts a mean promo!
Either way, congratulations to the Royals on their successful season, and may they have many more in the future!
