Former Georgia coach Mark Richt appears to be headed to Miami, and the speculation surrounding quarterback Jacob Eason appears to be headed there with him.
According to a report from CollegeSpun, Eason, a five-star quarterback from Washington State and Georgia commit, liked a tweet that reported Richt’s new job. As a result, the speculation over what his future would hold only got higher.
Eason remains committed to Georgia, but has a strong relationship with Richt. Since Richt stepped down in Athens, Eason has since scheduled a visit to Florida. Perhaps Miami could now make that list.
Either way, one thing is certain. Eason’s commitment to Georgia is far from rock solid with Richt out of the picture, even if he did sign financial aid papers with the program. Should he opt to de-commit and head to Miami, the Hurricanes could very well become an immediate ACC contender in 2016 since Richt would immediately have his best quarterback since Matthew Stafford and The U would have its best since Ken Dorsey.
