Tennessee guard Robert Hubbs is still recovering from surgery on his right knee and won’t be available for Saturday’s game against No. 18 Butler in Indianapolis, according to an AP report.
Hubbs had surgery on December 1 and not much is known about his recovery other than coach Rich Barnes saying that he is making “good progress.”
And how happy the Vols will be to have Hubbs back on the court once he is fully recovered. The junior is having a breakout season and is third on the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the field. Hobbs has also added 3.7 rebounds per contest.
Given how Tennessee has lost two in a row to George Washington and Nebraska and now have to play the fast and feisty Bulldogs after lengthy time off, Hubbs’ absence could prove to be the difference-maker in this game.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.
