Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is easily one of the best in the NFL today. He steadily makes athletic and acrobatic plays, but he seems to be going a little overboard with the way he is playing as of late and his comments prove that.
“I think I’m the best wide receiver in the NFL,” Hopkins said. “I work hard. I’ve wanted to put myself in that position to be the best wide receiver in the NFL, and I definitely think I’m putting my foot forward to make that claim.”
That claim sounds just a bit ridiculous, as Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham Jr., Julio Jones and a few other receivers are widely viewed as the best receivers in the game.
Throughout the course of the 2015 season, Hopkins has caught 86 passes for 1,169 yards and 10 touchdowns. He hasn’t put up the numbers to prove that he is the best receiver in the game, but he does have Brian Hoyer as his quarterback.
All of the other options have much better quarterbacks throwing the football their way.
