Villanova Wildcats freshman guard Donte DiVincenzo has a broken right foot and is expected to miss four to six weeks.
A four-star talent from Wilmington, Delaware, the 6-foot-6, 200 pound DiVincenzo is averaging just over nine minutes per game his freshman season and has yet to make an impact in the scoring department.
In DiVincenzo’s absence, Villanova’s usual guard crew of Josh Hart, Ryan Arcidiacono, Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Phil Booth will likely see extended minutes. The Wildcats’ fast-paced offense is guard oriented and DiVincenzo is on the outside looking in at this point, so this isn’t a huge loss for Villanova.
Just the same, the Big East is a tough conference and with conference play on the horizon, every extra set of legs helps.
Campus Sports will update DiVincenzo’s recovery should any new information become available.
