Listen: Louisville’s Damion Lee releases theme song ‘For the ‘Ville’

Louisville star and graduate transfer Damion Lee’s collegiate career will wrap up on Saturday against Virginia, as the Cardinals won’t be playing in the postseason this year amid an investigation into an alleged prostitution scandal.

Despite that, Lee has nothing but good things to say about his experience playing for Louisville, so much that he recorded a rap and posted it to Soundcloud. The song is called “For the ‘Ville” and despite Lee not being a professional rapper, it’s actually pretty decent.

Some may go so far as to call it “fire,” because that’s how catchy it is.

Lee transferred to Louisville from Drexel after being one of the nation’s top scorers last season, joining fellow graduate transfer Trey Lewis (from Cleveland State) in the quest to compete for a national championship in their last year of eligibility. That won’t happen, but this song says it all.

Lee clearly loves Louisville and regardless of what the next step of his basketball career is, he’ll always have a soft spot in his heart for “the ‘Ville.”
