Tim Howard returns to MLS, signs with Rapids

It’s been nearly a decade and a half since Tim Howard last played in the MLS, but he will now be making a return to the league. He just recently signed a contract with the Colorado Rapids.

Howard will reportedly finish out the current Premier League season with Everton and then will play for the US Men’s National Team in the summer’s Copa America Centenario before joining the Rapids in July. This comes after 13 years away from the league.

Howard spent a year with the North Jersey Imperials and then six with the MetroStars. He then turned to focus on his career with the national team and then in the Premier League, first with Manchester United and with Everton from 2007 until now.

Many will remember Howard for his performance in the 2014 World Cup. He helped lead the US into the elimination round and had a World Cup record 16 saves in a loss against Belgium.

It is sure going to be exciting to see Tim Howard back in a MLS jersey.
