Bryce Harper has emojis on his bats

Washington Nationals star outfielder Bryce Harper just wants to make baseball fun again and has already started in an epic manner. Closing in on 100 career home runs, needing just one more longball to reach that milestone, Harper has opted to add emojis to his bats.

Sure enough, Harper posted a picture to Instagram of said bats, which feature the “100” emojis. Check it out!

Harper is already a polarizing figure in baseball, often flipping his bat after a home run and staring down pitchers after the fact, but it’s part of the game. By adding emojis to his bats, be they on the handle or somewhere more visible, he could be opening himself up to more criticism from old-school fans or even MLB commissioner Rob Manfred.

To which this writer says, so what? Emojis are fun. Baseball is fun. Why not marry the two and give fans something else to enjoy while watching the game?
