Report: Josh Gordon denied reinstatement by NFL

The troubled career of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has taken yet another unfortunate turn.

On Tuesday, reports surfaced that Gordon had failed another drug test administered by the NFL because of a diluted sample. Hours later, the Cleveland Plain Dealer announced Josh Gordon’s “petition for reinstatement from his indefinite drug ban has been denied by the NFL.”

Gordon will be eligible to re-apply for reinstatement later in the year.

With the latest development in the story, it is safe to say the Cleveland Browns will be moving on as though Gordon will never suit up for the team again. For Gordon, the wait will now continue for a shot at redemption.

Whether he can stay out of trouble and get his act together in time to earn a final chance remains to be seen.
