In the world of college football that has seen some conferences attempt to grow larger and add more premiere name teams, it is rare to see a big conference make a big change within the ranks. However, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn believes the SEC could be seeing a big change in the coming years.
The SEC’s conference games are set through the 2025 season, so it is unlikely that there would be any kind of realignment. However, Malzahn told ESPN’s Chris Low that there could be some discussion and he would not oppose a move to the SEC East for the Tigers.
If the SEC shuffles things, @CoachGusMalzahn wouldn't be opposed to Auburn moving to the East. "I think there will be discussion on that."

If the Tigers made the jump to the East, Missouri would likely be the best option to replace them in the West. This would also set up a guaranteed cross-division match-up with the Alabama Crimson Tide for Gus Malzahn’s team.
Realignment in the SEC seems pretty far off, but I would not be surprised to see the Tigers make the jump if it ever does happen.
