Muhammad Ali will be competing in this year’s Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. It’s not the same boxer that once quoted he “floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee,” but a young boxer from Great Britain shares the same name as that legendary fighter.
Ali won his way into the Olympics with a European qualifying event on Friday. He has also proven his mettle as a boxer before, winning the bronze medal at the 2014 Youth Olympics.
Brilliant boxing from @malijnr1996 to book his place at Rio 2016. The fourth Brit to do so today! Congrats Muhammad pic.twitter.com/zsmQoCl2Cm

He also won the silver medal at a European event in 2015, so he certainly has shown he could live up to his coincidental name. Let’s hope he is able to go pretty far this summer.
The only thing we can hope is that Muhammad Ali, the legend, is in attendance to possibly see this young fighter make history.
