Geno Auriemma hospitalized with undisclosed illness

UConn women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma has been hospitalized with an undisclosed illness, according to an AP report.

Per the report, Auriemma boarded a plane in Connecticut Saturday morning, only to get off of it because he did not feel well. UConn has since stated that the Hall of Fame coach was taken to a hospital for observation and is “resting comfortably.”

Auriemma has been the coach at UConn for 31 years and has amassed an eye-popping overall record of 955-134 with 11 national championships, including the last four in a row. He has gone undefeated in a season six times and has turned the Huskies into a borderline unstoppable dynasty.

It is also worth noting that Auriemma missed his team’s victory parade in Hartford just over a week ago due to feeling under the weather, though nothing has been said if his most recent illness has anything to do with that.
