Floyd Mayweather trademarks suggest comeback?

Could one of boxing’s all-time greats be returning to the ring after a brief retirement? Well, if some recent trademarks filed by Floyd Mayweather Jr. are any indication, a comeback could be in the cards soon.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark website, Mayweather filed for the trademarks “TMT 50” and “TBE 50.”

Mayweather previously filed for trademarks on the acronyms “TMT” and “TBE” which mean “The Money Team” and “The Best Ever.” Adding the 50 to the trademark fueled the speculation of a return from retirement because Mayweather currently sits at 49-0.

Over the weekend, Mayweather also addressed the potential return and did nothing to shut down that speculation.

“Everyone is asking me, ‘Is Floyd Mayweather coming back?’” Mayweather said. “Right now, I’m happy being [retired], but I’ve been talking with CBS and Showtime, and you just never know.”

Do you think Mayweather will make a return to the sport? If so, who should he face? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts.
