Hugh Freeze comments on Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss situation

Last week, former Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil’s NFL career flashed before his eyes when a tweet which showed him smoking marijuana from a gas mask bong was sent out from his account just minutes before the start of the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Just minutes after his name was called as the Miami Dolphins’ draft pick, a post was sent out from his Instagram that showed screenshots of a text message exchange between him and an Ole Miss coach.

It looked like the coach had agreed to help pay for Tunsil’s rent and other amenities.

Tunsil was asked about the situation at a press conference and openly admitted that he had “made a mistake” and accepted money before being hurried off the stage. It seems that head coach Hugh Freeze, who is already dealing with other NCAA allegations, had no idea about the situation at all, according to Daniel Paulling of the Jackson Clarion-Ledger.

While Laremy Tunsil claims that his Twitter was hacked and the video that was posted was years old, there is no denying that he openly admitted to accepting money. It has put his former team in a bind and it certainly looks like Freeze has a lot to be concerned with heading into the 2016 season.
