Ole Miss verifies Laremy Tunsil texts are real

Former Ole Miss and current Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil had a pretty rough night at the 2016 NFL Draft. He saw his stock plummet after his Twitter account was hacked and a video of him smoking marijuana was posted.

While the video — which was from several years ago — was disappointing, a post depicting a text message conversation between an Ole Miss coach and Tunsil was posted to his Instagram account nearly an hour later and that is trouble for the Rebels.

Many thought the post, which showed the coach saying he would give the player money to help with bills, was fake. However, according to ESPN, officials at the school have determined that the messages were real and that the exchange of money, which Tunsil confirmed in a post-draft press conference, actually happened at some point last year.

The school is still in the middle of conducting an investigation into the situation.

This might have something to do with the football team being notified of several allegations from the NCAA in January of this year. Nobody knew exactly what the allegations stemmed from, but Laremy Tunsil might have a little more explaining to do.
