Dana White: ‘No way in hell’ Conor McGregor fights Floyd Mayweather

The most popular subject in the world of combat sports the last week or so is whether UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would take on Floyd Mayweather in a future match-up. It certainly doesn’t seem like UFC President Dana White is too fond of the idea and he just wants his champion to get back in the Octagon.

White, who recently stated that he would meet with McGregor to discuss a possible rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 in August, joined “UFC Tonight” earlier this week and talked about the rumored megafight. He had joked about telling Mayweather to give him a call if he wanted a fight in UFC, but on Wednesday he essentially put the nail in the coffin for the fight.

“There’s no reality there either,” White said. “Listen, if you look at Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio, (they) were in the same sport and they couldn’t make that fight. You think you’re going to make Floyd and Conor?

There’s no way in hell.

This likely doesn’t come as a surprise to many fans as Conor McGregor has an exclusive contract with the company. This further proves that what White says ultimately goes.
