Ezekiel Elliott officially signs rookie contract with Cowboys

On Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboys officially signed their 2016 first-round selection, running back Ezekiel Elliott, to his rookie contract. Elliott has yet to even play a snap for the Cowboys and fans are already labeling him as a future Hall of Fame inductee.

Elliott was easily the top running back available in the 2016 NFL Draft, which is evidenced by him being the only one selected in the first round. The Cowboys shared the picture of him signing his contract and the look on his face says it all.

Ezekiel Elliott is expected to be named the starting running back over Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris in the near future. He will likely compete for the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award during the 2016 season.

The Cowboys open the season on September 11 when they host NFC East rival, the New York Giants. I am sure fans from all over the country will be tuning into see the player who could be the next Emmitt Smith.
