Arkansas mascot, Tusk, sends flowers to Mike VI

The LSU Tigers and their fan base were hit with some pretty devastating news when LSU mascot Mike VI was given just two months to live with a rare form of cancer. Arkansas’s mascot, Tusk, was nice enough to put the rivalry aside and send the ailing tiger flowers on Wednesday.

A picture of the flowers and the heartfelt not Tusk sent the mascot was posted to Mike VI’s Instagram page.

Thanks, Tusk! Arkansas’ Razorback sent me flowers. #MascotsStickTogether

The Tigers and Razorbacks have had a bitter rivalry for the last 25 years as they have battled for the Golden Boot. The annual rivalry game started in 1901 and ran until 1966, before being halted until 1992.

These two teams may hate each other the field, but situations like this go much further than a football game.
