Cristiano Ronaldo returns to training ahead of Champions League final

Earlier this week, Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo limped off the field with a thigh injury and there were immediately some concerns about his fitness for this weekend’s Champions League Final.

On Wednesday, Madrid fans learned some good news that will allow them to breath a sigh of relief.

Per reports, Ronaldo returned to training and he appears on track to take the field for Real Madrid against rival Atletico Madrid on Saturday afternoon.

If Ronaldo is healthy and can find the back of the net twice on Saturday, he will break his own record of 17 Champions League goals in a single campaign. Currently, Ronaldo sits at 16 goals.

The Champions League Final is set to kickoff at 2:45 p.m. ET on May 28.
