The Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team appears set to receive some good news for the upcoming season, with reports that Dillon Brooks is set to return to the program for his junior year.
The news was first reported by ESPN.com.
Brooks initially entered the 2016 NBA Draft pool, but he did not hire an agent. As a result, he was able to withdraw his name from consideration and that was the wise decision to make after he did not receive an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine.
Last season, Brooks averaged 16.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists. His 16.7 points led the Ducks in 2015-16.
Returning Brooks is a major boost for the Ducks, who could also be returning promising sophomore Tyler Dorsey. If both players return to Eugene, don’t be surprised to see Oregon make a deep run in the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
