Ladarius Green out after ankle surgery

The Pittsburgh Steelers added a huge piece to their offense this offseason by stealing away tight end Ladarius Green from the San Diego Chargers. However, Green will not be on the field with the team until late summer.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Green has been sidelined and will not participate in OTAs after having ankle surgery earlier this offseason. He is expected to return for training camp later this year.

“I just want to see if I can prove it to myself that I can go out there and be the best,” he said.

Green signed a four-year deal worth $20 million in early March and is expected to replace the retiring Heath Miller.

In the last four years, Ladarius Green recorded just under 1,100 yards and seven touchdowns. 2015 was his biggest season with 429 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games, 11 of which he started.
