Mark Richt to donate $1 million of his money to help with Indoor Practice Facility

New Miami Hurricanes head coach Mark Richt is wasting no time making a positive impact on the program and his latest gesture of good will is something that will benefit student-athletes entering the Miami program for years to come.

According to a report from Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post, Richt is set to donate $1 million of his own money to assist with the construction of an Indoor Practice Facility.

Richt has said in the past that he was looking to land the Hurricanes an indoor facility, so he is certainly putting his money where his mouth is.

Additional reports suggest the indoor practice facility could cost up to $27 million, with two years needed for completion of the project. So even with Richt’s generous donation, the University of Miami has a long way to go in raising the funds but it is reportedly already a plan in motion.

How much do you think recruits are going to love the fact that the team’s head coach is putting his own cash down to benefit the student-athletes? That will likely go a long way with prospective players.
