Gus Malzahn, Auburn agree to extension through 2020

Auburn Tigers head football coach Gus Malzahn won’t be going anywhere in the near future, as AL.com’s James Crepea passed along the news on Monday night that he and the university agreed to a contract extension through 2020.

Malzahn is set to make $4.725 million per year.

“He’s a brilliant offensive mind,” Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs previously said, via SI.com. “Took us to two national championships; once as a coordinator, once as a head coach. There’s a bunch of schools in this league that would love to be in our position with a guy like him.”

During his three years leading the Tigers, Malzahn has recorded an overall record of 27–13.

Auburn will kick off its 2016 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 3 when playing host to the Clemson Tigers.
