Virginia Tech QB’s cousin one of three Baton Rouge officers killed Sunday

Three Baton Rouge Police Department officers were killed in a shoot-out Sunday morning, with one of the victims being Montrell Jackson, cousin of current Virginia Tech quarterback Josh Jackson.

In a tweet Sunday afternoon, Josh Jackson referenced the fallen policeman as his cousin and asked his followers to “#PrayForBatonRouge”.

Montrell Jackson was also a new father, having posted pictures of Mason Jackson, his months-old son, on his Facebook page.

When asked about what fatherhood was like, he responded “NO SLEEP! LOL. I wouldn’t trade him for the world though.”

A small glimpse into a surely wonderful and optimistic person’s life, Montrell Jackson’s life was taken much too soon.

Josh Jackson probably won’t start for the Hokies next season barring injury, but our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, nonetheless.
