Video: Phillie Phanatic plays ‘Pokemon Go,’ chases giant Pikachu

The “Pokemon Go” craze has swept the nation and it has already proven to be a very polarizing thing. It looks like the Philadelphia Phillies and their mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, has fallen in love with the game and it came into play during a game Tuesday night.

The Phillies and Miami Marlins met up Tuesday night and between innings, someone in a giant Pikachu costume started running around the outfield. The Phillie Phanatic was chasing him with an iPad, presumably playing the popular mobile app.

Let’s hope that more professional teams start joining in on the craze before it inevitably goes the way of the “Whip and Nae Nae” or “Dubsmash.” However, it has been a quick rise to fame and as long as it’s making money, I would expect it to stick around for just a little while longer.
