Ezekiel Elliott’s father gets part-time role on Ohio State staff

Ezekiel Elliott was a star running back for the Ohio State Buckeyes before joining the Dallas Cowboys earlier this year as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

But while the running back is now off in the pros, there will still be a member of the Elliott family helping out the Buckeyes.

Elliott’s father, Stacy Elliott, has never been shy about his support of Ohio State and his love for head coach Urban Meyer, so it should come as no surprise that he has landed a part-time role on the coaching staff as an official program assistant.

“My role is to talk to parents and recruits about why becoming a Buckeye is so special,” Stacy Elliott told Eleven Warriors. “Whatever I can do to assist in recruiting.”

Having the father of one of the program’s highest drafted players in recent years assisting with recruiting should definitely help. After all, no one knows more about dealing with the recruiting process and struggle of coming up through the ranks in college more than Stacy Elliott, who watched his son do so while competing at the highest level.
