Simone Biles named USA flag-bearer for Rio closing ceremony

United States gymnast Simone Biles has been named the Rio closing ceremony flag-bearer for the United States Saturday afternoon, according to a report by NBC Olympics.

The 19-year-old phenomenon has won five medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics — four gold and one bronze.

Biles received her first gold medal of the Olympics when the United States’ women’s gymnastics team, who have dubbed themselves the “Final Five,” placed first in the team event.

Biles continued her gold rush, finishing first in the individual all-around, the vault and floor.

She placed bronze in the balance beam competition.

Standing 4-foot-9, the small-in-stature Biles also made headlines when heartthrob actor Zac Efron, of “High School Musical” fame, surprised Biles by kissing her on the cheek while she was taking a video. To say Biles lost her cool would be an understatement.

The closing ceremony begins Sunday at 7 pm ET.
