Peyton Manning gives and takes the heat at Rob Lowe roast

Future Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning is enjoying the life of a retired NFL quarterback. And apparently, he’s trying his hand at comedy.

Manning participated in the Comedy Central roast of Rob Lowe — which airs next week — and showed off the humor and charm that we’ve seen in the past from his various commercial appearances.

While the show won’t air until next week, jokes from the roast are already beginning to surface and it’s clear Manning held nothing back.

One of the direct targets a Manning joke was Ann Coulter.

“I’m not the only athlete up here,” Manning said. “As you know, earlier this year, Ann Coulter won the Kentucky Derby.”

Oof. Direct hit. You have to love how public figures can attend these roasts and display thick skin as they become the subject of some twisted, yet hilarious jokes. And don’t worry, Manning took a shot of his own. Yes, it was a forehead joke.

Peyton Manning is a two-time Super Bowl champion and a Hall of Famer but it didn’t give him a big head,” Lowe said. “That came from years of inbreeding.”

Well played.

I am sure more jokes will surface in the coming days leading up to the roast. We’ll have to see who else Manning took a jab at and who decided to fire back at the five-time NFL MVP and two-time Super Bowl champion.
