Colin Kaepernick donating $1 million to community organizations

Colin Kaepernick has been at the center of a national dialogue after the San Francisco 49ers quarterback protested the national anthem to stand up for those who are oppressed in the United States of America.

There were plenty of people who were offended by Kaepernick’s actions, which sparked an outrage and took away from his initial message.

On Thursday, Kaepernick was able to get his message back on track with a rational, informative Q&A session with the press after the 49ers’ win over the San Diego Chargers in the preseason finale.

Kaepernick cleared up his message — making it very clear that he is not anti-America or anti-police — while saying he will donate the first $1 million he earns during the 2016-17 NFL season to community outreach organizations.

Hats off to Kaepernick for walking the walk and talking the talk.

You may not agree with the initial action, but it’s time to take away any distractions and focus on what the real point of Kaepernick’s message is: Let’s fight for equality for all.
