Tennessee fans rent suite at Alabama game, predict wins over Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide molly-whopped the USC Trojans during their season opener at AT&T Stadium, 52-6. It certainly looks like they are deserving of their No. 1 ranking, but that doesn’t mean everyone believes they are the top dog.

At last night’s game at Jerry World, a group of Tennessee fans decided to rent out a suite and take in the glory of Alabama football, possibly learning first-hand what a winner looks like. In that suite, however, there was a sign hanging up that seemingly suggested the Vols would beat the Crimson Tide in October and then again in December, in the SEC Championship Game.

The Volunteers haven’t beaten the Crimson Tide since 2006, a 16-13 defensive struggle in Knoxville. They have also lost the last nine games by an average of almost 21.5 points per game.

Their odds, coupled with Tennessee looking awful against the Appalachian State Mountaineers in their season opener Thursday, makes it pretty hard for The Vols to actually pull off their first win over Alabama in a decade, much less beat them twice in one year.

But don’t tell that to these fans.
