Monday Night Raw recap: The Kevin Owens Show begins

Last week saw a brand new WWE Universal Champion crowned as Kevin Owens got an assist from Triple H in the main event to defeat Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns for the title. Tonight’s episode was the beginning of The Kevin Owens Show as balloons filled the arena for his massive celebration.

However, the celebration was cut short as Rollins interrupted Owens and demanded a match for the championship. He accused Stephanie McMahon of setting up the attack by her husband, but she denied it, causing Rollins to attack Owens in anger.

McMahon then announced that Rollins would be suspended indefinitely, but General Manager Mick Foley reversed her decision and gave Rollins a match for the Universal Championship at Clash of Champions.

Owens and his friend Chris Jericho confronted Foley and McMahon in the backstage area. Jericho called the GM a “stupid idiot,” forcing Foley to put him in a match against Owens.

Bayley made it known that she was going after the Women’s Champion Charlotte when she debuted on Raw last week. She took on the champion tonight and ended up pulling off the win after Dana Brooke inadvertently got involved in the match.

Bo Dallas made his first appearance on Raw since being drafted back in July. He looks to make a big impact and fans saw a very different side of him in his match.

Rollins and Jericho had a terrific back and forth match, but it was The Architect that pulled off the win. He hit Y2J with a Pedigree, sending a very loud and clear message to Triple H.

Nia Jax has been dominating her opponents over the last few weeks and tonight was no different. However, Alicia Fox didn’t take too kindly to Jax beating up her friend and confronted her.

Earlier in the day, Sasha Banks had tweeted out that she was coming to Raw and she had some bad news, scaring fans everywhere. She addressed the crowd before being interrupted by Brooke, who wanted to prove herself to Charlotte, but that didn’t work out too well for her.

The main event saw Owens take on his bitter rival Sami Zayn and it was a terrific back and forth match to end the night. Owens got the win and celebrated with his title before being interrupted by Roman Reigns, who seemed to want a shot at the championship.

Mick Foley came out and made the match for next week’s Raw. If Reigns beats Owens, he would be added to the main event at Clash of Champions in a Triple Threat.

It will certainly be interesting to see what happens in the weeks leading up to Clash of Champions.
