4-star 2018 SG Tyler Herro commits to Wisconsin

The Wisconsin basketball program picked up a major commitment from an in-state recruit on Monday afternoon. Four-star shooting guard Tyler Herro announced his commitment to the Badgers on social media.

First and foremost, I would like to thank God for blessing me with this great opportunity to become a student-athlete at such a prestigious university,” he wrote on Twitter.

“I would also like to thank my family for sacrificing everything they possibly could to make this possible. This opportunity would not be possible without all of my past and present coaches. Specifically Coach Monfre, Coach Donaldson, Coach Kujawa, Coach Hiir, Coach Kellett and Coach White. Finally, after talks with my family, I have verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin.”

Herro is currently the No. 2 recruit in the state of Wisconsin, according to 247 Sports. He is the No. 19-ranked shooting guard in the Class of 2018.

The 6-foot-3, 160-pounders chose Wisconsin over programs like Arizona, DePaul and Marquette.
