The Michigan Wolverines and Nebraska Cornhuskers are both off to a great start this year and Saturday, they both won big blowouts over their opponents.
Wolverines quarterback Wilton Speight and Cornhuskers safety Nathan Gerry were named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for their efforts in the wins.
Speight threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns against the Central Florida Knights. Michigan won the game, 51-14, in a blowout.
In a 52-17 manhandling of the Wyoming Cowboys, Gerry recorded two interceptions and a tackle for loss.

Right now, both of these teams look like the class of their respective divisions in the Big Ten. Perhaps a meeting in the Big Ten Championship Game in December could be in the cards if their success continues.
