Egg Bowl returning to Thanksgiving in 2017, 2018

Rejoice, Ole Miss and Mississippi State fans, the Egg Bowl is returning to the holiday.

In recent years, the rivalry game between the Rebels and Bulldogs has been played at various weeks throughout the season, but the 2017 SEC Football schedule was unveiled late Tuesday night which revealed the Egg Bowl is returning to Thanksgiving for the 2017 season.

Not only that, the Egg Bowl is also expected to be held on Thanksgiving in 2018.

Mississippians will be served egg with their turkey in 2017 and 2018.

The Egg Bowl is scheduled to move back to Thanksgiving for the next two years a league source told The Clarion-Ledger on Tuesday. ESPN first reported the news of the move for 2017

Ole Miss has been getting the better of the rivalry recently, with two straight wins. The Rebels also have the historic lead, with a 61-45-6 all time record.

This year, the Egg Bowl match up will take place in the regular season finale on Nov. 26 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford.
