FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll, Week 3: Louisville surges to top 3

Following Week 3 of college football season, the Football Writers Association of America and the National Football Foundation unveiled the updated FWAA-NFF Super 16 poll.

After a comeback win to defeat Ole Miss on Saturday, the Alabama Crimson Tide held on to the No. 1 spot as the near unanimous pick with 41 of 45 first-place votes. The only other team to earn first-place votes following Week 3 was the Louisville Cardinals, who earned four votes after their drubbing of Florida State, which ell from No. 2 to No. 13.

Texas and Oklahoma lost to Cal and Ohio State, respectively, and both dropped out of the poll, leaving the Big 12 with no teams in the top 16.

The SEC led all conferences with five teams. The Big Ten and ACC had four each. The Pac-12 had two and the American one.
