Oklahoma OT Cody Ford suffers broken fibula

Oklahoma got embarrassed by the Ohio State Buckeyes Saturday night. The Sooners got some even worse news after the game when they found out offensive tackle Cody Ford had been diagnosed with a broken fibula.

Ford, a redshirt freshman, left the field just five minutes into the game after he went down with a lower leg injury. He was carted off the field and it was later reported that he suffered a broken fibula.

There was no immediate word on a potential timeline for Ford’s return to the field. Center Jonathan Alvarez moved over to fill in for Ford and Erick Wren came into anchor down the offensive line.

The Sooners have a week off to bounce back before they travel to take on the TCU Horned Frogs on Oct. 1.
