These hype videos have become quite a trend and Oklahoma will be difficult to outdo. They effectively mix narration with footage of monster hits and flag-planting, getting their constituency fired up for the Red River Rivalry on Saturday in Dallas.
Oklahoma is 2-2 this year with loses to Houston and Ohio State. They remain ranked 20th in the country. Texas is also 2-2, having lost their previous two games; first a surprise loss to Cal then a shootout to Oklahoma State.
This is a pivotal game for Texas, whose head coach Charlie Strong may start feeling some heat if they fall to three loses this season. Strong will still have an undefeated Baylor squad and Texas Christian squad that knows how to score left on the schedule this year. If Strong wants to avoid being the latest name on the ever-turning coaches carousel, as strong showing by the Longhorns is in order.
We’ll see how things unfold on Saturday, but if the game were played in hype videos, Texas would be found left wanting.
