USC has listed redshirt senior tackle Zach Banner as doubtful to play against the Colorado Buffaloes this weekend. The Buffaloes are ranked 21st in the nation while the Trojans are a disappointing 2-3.
USC Clay Helton said that Banner was “50/50 at best” for their Saturday matchup. Banner was unable to practice this week and received a platelet rich plasma injection in his left ankle on Tuesday. Banner is 6-foot-8 and weighs 342 pounds. Helton went on to say, “A big man with an ankle sprain, sometimes it takes a while.”
USC has struggled this season against any team worth its weight. They opened the season with a 46 point loss to Alabama, and have lost games to Stanford and Utah as well. Oregon, Washington and Notre Dame all remain on their schedule, and if they have hopes of even finishing above .500 this season, they will need Banner back sooner rather than later.
USC is still favored by more than a field goal this weekend and could notch their only victory against a ranked opponent this season. (Even if it is against the Colorado Buffaloes).
