Meet Mackenzie Dern: Jiu jitsu star transitioning to MMA

This weekend, jiu jitsu star Mackenzie Dern competes in her second pro mixed martial arts bout under the Legacy Fighting Championship banner at Legacy 61 in Dallas Friday night on AXS TV.

Ahead of the bout, Legacy FC produced a video feature on Dern, who many believe is one of the top prospects in women’s MMA. Dern, who is the world’s top female BJJ black belt competitor by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), trained with former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson at The MMA Lab for her debut earlier this year.

In that debut, Dern scored a unanimous decision victory.

This time around, Dern will be looking to show off her impressive jiu jitsu credentials with a submission win.

You can check out the Mackenzie Dern feature below, along with more photos of the rising star.
