The Tennessee Volunteers will be closer to full strength on offense Saturday with the news that running back Jalen Hurd is set to return to the lineup. After missing last weekend’s loss to No. 6 Texas A&M, Vols head coach Butch Jones announced Hurd is ready to go this weekend.
“He’s back full-strength,” head coach Butch Jones told reporters.
“I’ve really liked the way he’s approached the week. We’re excited to have him back. He’ll be back and ready to go.”
While Hurd is healthy and ready to return, Jones did not indicate whether he would get the start over Alvin Kamara, who accounted for more than 300 total yards and three touchdowns in relief of Hurd a week ago.
This season, Hurd has 407 yards rushing and four total scores.
Kickoff between the No. 9 Vols and No. 1 Crimson Tide is set for 3:30 p.m. ET at Neyland Stadium on CBS.
