Nigel Hayes shows up to GameDay with anti-NCAA sign

ESPN College GameDay is in Madison, Wisconsin today for today’s Big Ten clash between the No. 10 Badgers and No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes. With the ESPN cameras in attendance for the big game, a star Wisconsin athlete stopped by the set.

Badgers basketball star Nigel Hayes swung through College GameDay with a sign that featured a very specific message to the NCAA.

Hayes, who has been vocal in the past about getting pay for student-athletes, made a direct statement regarding the struggles athletes have when it comes to finances. Hayes’ wanted to make sure everyone got the point.

The sign comes a day after Hayes tweeted out the following, so the motivation for his GameDay sign was very clear.

Well done, Nigel Hayes.

More athletes need to speak out on the cause to see if they can create a movement for a change.

Today’s kickoff between Ohio State and Wisconsin is set for 8 p.m. ET on ABC at Camp Randall Stadium.
